  105. Most software today is written with the student in mind.  The 
  106. ALGEBRA EQUATION GENERATOR has been written with the teacher in 
  107. mind.  As teachers in today's schools we now have more 
  108. heterogeneous grouping with multiple levels of student ability.
  109. This places an extra burden on us, especially when it comes to 
  110. prepararing materials for each of these levels.  The ALGEBRA 
  111. EQUATION GENERATOR has been designed to make these preparations 
  112. easier.

  114. The ALGEBRA EQUATION GENERATOR will generate and print worksheets
  115. that are used to practice and reinforce basic equation solving 
  116. skills.  From the Main Menu, you will have a choice of three types
  117. of equations:

  120. you wish to obtain

  131. Once you have made a choice of which types of equations  you need, 
  132. set the level of difficulty.  This may be done selecting a range 
  133. usually between 1 and 5 according to the following chart:

  153. In version 3.1 we have incorporated a WYSIWYG (What you see is what
  154. you get) window that shows a sample problem to be printed, a counter 
  155. showing the number of problems generated, the spacing between problems,
  156. and the starting number for the exercises.  A few notes signal the 
  157. end of the generation cycle and the need to print out each worksheet.

  160. In this manner you may personalize your instruction by generating
  161. worksheets that are adapted to each student's mathematical maturity.
  162. You may generate anywhere from 2 to 100 exercises.  I recommend 
  163. shorter work-sheets for beginning students (8 or 10 exercises) and 
  164. longer ones (12 - ?) for middle level and advanced students.

  167. Each worksheet and its answer key is identified by a three-digit 
  168. random number, this allows the separation of the answer key if need be.

  171. The ALGEBRA EQUATION GENERATOR uses a randomizing process to generate 
  172. different exercises for each worksheet.  This randomizing process depends 
  173. on the computer's internal time clock.  If your computer does not have 
  174. a battery-operated internal clock, you will need to enter the time 
  175. on your computer before each session with ALGEBRA EQUATION GENERATOR.
